Why does not fashion change on the red carpet?

In fashion, it seems like everything is flowing and everything is changing at a breakneck pace, but something surprisingly remains unshakable for several decades - this is the dress code of red tracks. They are mostly men in suits and ties, and women, even such outspoken neformalki in life, like Kristen Stewart, in sparkling dresses with lace to the floor. Compare, for example, Salma Hayek on the red carpet in 1997, Beyonce in 2005 and Naomi Watts in 2016 - all three at the Oscar and all three in virtually the same dress, which even the year can not be determined. It seems like the difference between the first and last dresses is almost 20 years old, but there is no feeling that since then Hollywood standards of pompous events have undergone at least some dramatic changes: dresses are sparkling, hairs are styled to a hair, “sponsor” diamonds are present, and everything is decorous and noble.
