When is Groundhog Day?

Groundhog Day is a traditional holiday in North America. When is it celebrated?

According to belief, on February 2, you can determine how long the winter will last, by the behavior of the woodchuck.

Waking up from hibernation, the animal crawls out of its mink and looks around. In clear weather, the groundhog will see its own shadow and, frightened by it, will hide back into the hole to sleep further. This means that the winter will last another 6 weeks. If the day is overcast, the animal will not see the shadow and leave the hole - spring is already on its way.

And though the predictions of the groundhog meteorologist do not always come true, residents of the United States and Canada do not care every year at various festivals with interest watching his behavior, congratulating each other on the result, whatever it is, but especially rejoicing at the imminent arrival of spring.
